The Federalist Papers
The Federalist Papers is a collection of eighty-five essays that were written to persuade colonists to ratify the newly signed Constitution. Published in newspapers in the state of New York from 1887 to 1888, these articles outlined the founding fathers' beliefs and principles behind the constitution. The essays were the collected works of Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay, though they were printed in the newspaper under the pen name "Publius."
